Diwali release

Diwali 2008, traditionally the second biggest festival in Tamilnadu is round the corner (October 27). As usual, Kollywood producers, distributors are just waking up to the season, and the line-up is still not clear.

As of now, no theatre has any confirmed booking for Diwali films. Some producers and distributors have asked them to block the dates, further to negotiations. Seven films are looking at a Diwali release, depending on MG amount and theatre dates.

The producers, who are now talking of a Diwali release, need not release it for the festival. It depends on a lot of factors and as all of them are yet to release their audio. The list may change at the last minute as some may opt out while others may come in.

The tentative list is as follows.

1. Aegan- Ajit and Nayanthara.
Director- Raju Sundaram
Producer- Ayngaran International
Present Status- Shoot and dubbing of the film is over. One more song will be picturised in a foreign location in the first week of October.

2.Abhiyum Naanum- Prakash Raj, Trisha
Director- Radha Mohan
Producer- Prakash Raj
Present Status- First copy of the film is ready.

3.Guru En Aalu- Madhavan, Mamta, Abbas
Director-Selva
Producer-KRG Movie International
Present Status- Shoot and dubbing over.

4.Naan Kadavul- Arya, Pooja
Director- Bala
Producer- Zee TV
Present Status- Shoot over. Dubbing commenced.

5.Seval Bharath, Simran, Poonam
Director- Hari
Producer -Jinnah Creations
Present Status- Shoot and dubbing over

6. Silambattam- Silambarasan, Sana, Sneha
Director- S.Saravanan
Producer- Lakshmi Movie Makers
Present Status- 10 days of shoot left including a song.

7. Vaaranam Aayiram- Surya, Sameera, Divya, Simran
Director Gautham Menon
Producer Aaskar Ravichandran
Present Status- Shoot and Dubbing over. Mixing going on.
