Simbu as Billa

Silambarasan has expressed his admiration for Ajith on several occasions. His maiden directorial venture 'Vallavan' saw Silambarasan play a youth who admires Ajith. 'Kaalai' featured him with a few scenes with posters of Ajith. The actor seems to have gone a step ahead now and will be appearing with the 'Billa' look in his forthcoming venture 'Silambattam'. According to sources, Simbu comes in 'Billa' attire in the climax scene with the same background scored used for Ajith. Anu Vardhan (wife of director Vishnuvardhan), the costume designer of 'Billa' made some changes in the same suit that Ajith wore for 'Billa', to fit Simbu's size. Simbu even utters some dialogues made by Ajith in 'Billa' for 'Silambattam'

Ajith and his ‘Aegan’

choreographers-turned-directors with Ajith's 'Aegan.'

Sundaram's actual launch ought to have been the Dhanush debacle 'Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram.' But midway through the shoot he was out of it.

Whatever transpired should augur well for the director who returns anew with Ajith and Nayantara, the hit pair of 'Billa.'

Interestingly, actor Arun Pandian is the co-producer of 'Aegan.' Asked how he chose to work with Raju Sundaram, whose maiden venture hadn't really taken off, a piqued Ajith replied, "What's that got to do with this project? Raju is a fabulous choreographer and I'm confident he'll deliver as a director also. What happened earlier is not my concern."

Suman to fight with Ajith

The erstwhile hero Suman, who made his comeback in to Tamil films with 'Sivaji' as a villain is getting more offers to act as villain. The handsome star, who fought with the Superstar in 'Sivaji', will now battle with Ajith in his forthcoming movie 'Aegan'.

Suman got the chance to act in 'Sivaji' after Prakashraj refused to act as a villain in the mega movie produced by AVM and directed by Shankar. The director then approached Suman and the rest is history.

Suman's handling of the character won him lot of accolades and he started getting calls from many filmmakers to act as villain in their films. The actor, however, was determined to act only with the big heroes and hence refused many offers that came his way.

Finally he has got the offer he was waiting for. Raju Sundaram, director of 'Aegan', approached him to don the role of the villain in the film. Suman, who gleefully accepted the offer, is now preparing to clash with Ultimate Star.

What is Ajit in Aegan?

It's now the turn of Ajit to don the khakhi in Kollywood.

The sought- after hero in Tamil cinema will be playing the role of a honest policeman in Aegan, directed by choreographer-turned-director Raju Sundaram.

One of the big budget movies to be made in the recent times, Aegan is produced by Ayngaran International.

Speaking about the film, Raju Sundaram says, 'it is an action-packed entertainer. Ajit plays a energetic role. He has grown a beard and toned down his muscles for the film. We shot a few action scenes in Hong Kong and plans are on to shoot the movie in Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland'.

Heaping praises on Ajit, Raju says, 'Nayantara plays the female lead and the on-screen chemistry with the hero is a major highlight'.

Ajit and Nayantara come together after the blockbuster Billa. Expectations are high among their fans.

Denying reports that the movie is a remake of the hit Hindi film, Raju says, 'it is a thriller and is loaded with action all through. Ajit has performed all the stunt sequences himself'.

Asked about the title, he says, 'it refers to the Almighty. Lord Shiva is called as Aegan by his devotees in Siva Purana. The title is quite appropriate for the story'.

Also in the cast are Suhasini Manirathinam, Navdeep, Jayaram, Suman, Nasser and M S Baskar among others.

Music is scored by Yuvanshankar Raja while dialogues are by S Ramakrishnan.

Ajith does what ever Raju Sundaram says

Six months ago Rajusundaram ordered Ajith to grow a beard and Ajith obeyed the same. Ajith is found with beard for the past six months.

Rajusundaram ordered Ajith to fight with Jakie Chan's stunt master. Ajith obeyed and the stunt went on in Hong Kong for 15 long days.

Rajusundaram ordered Ajith to accept Nayanthara as his wife and now Ajith is singing duet with Nayanthara.

Rajusundaram ordered Ajith to change his career as a very strict police officer who does things as per the order received from his seniors, and Ajith is doing the same.

All the above are for Rajusundaram directed and Ajith starred Agen.

This is the first movie Rajusundaram is directing even though he has been dance master for more than 1000s of movies.

Sivaji Productions, who produced Superstar Rajinikanth's blockbuster Chandramukhi, is planning to produce a movie featuring Ultimate Star Ajith in the lead. Vijay’s advice to Ajith

Vijay, who is very keen in not allowing his child's picture appearing in the media, has advised Ajith to follow the same policy. Vijay, in fact, did not allow any one to take photograph till the child completed one year.

Ajith, who has decided to follow Vijay's advice, hasn't given any photographs of his child to the media. He has even refused to tell the name of the child.

Jayaram in Aegan

Jayaram is acting in an important role in Ajith's 'Aegan'.

Aegan in August?

With Billa rocking the cine scene for weeks after its release, Thalai fans can hardly wait for his next flick to hit screens. Every scrap of news about Ajith's upcomingmovie is devoured by them. Here's the next crumb!

Titled Aegan and directed by Raju Sundaram, Ajith's next movie is touted to release on 15th August! Independence will be extra special for Ajith fans, should this happen!

Aegan is said to have a storyline similar to that of Shah Rukh Khan's Main Hoon Na, hence we will see him in the guise of an undercover cop. And after a long search, Raju has handed the lady lead role to Nayantara. Lets hope that the luck the duo brought to Billa, will work out here as well!

Ajith as Aegan

Meaning 'the one and only', Aegan has been finalized as the title of Ajith's next movie, for which shooting is already underway! Informed sources say that the title, Aegan, is a word used in praise of Lord Shiva and means 'unique'. For Ajith, who is indeed a one-of-kind star, this title fits like a crown! Aegan is directed by dance master-turned-director Raju Sundaram and produced by Ayangaran International, which co-produced the victorious Billa. Released in December, Billa continues to rock the cine scene, unperturbed by the host of films that have hit the screen since.

Given the immense success of Billa, there's quite a lot of pressure on Raju to deliver. He is thoroughly confident in his story which is similar to the story of Shah Rukh's Main Hoon Na. And he has great faith in Thalai's acting prowess. As for the lead lady… If rumours are to be believed, then Katrina will fill that part. Let's hope that Aegan will let help the Ultimate Star ascend higher in cine space!

The happiest couple

Ajith and Shalini would almost certainly be the happiest couple in the world right now. The visual showing them just after the baby came out tells you their joy.

Though the young couple married in 2000, they had been postponing the childbirth. Finally Shalini conceived in 2006. Ajith came down to Chennai from Malaysia, when doctors confirmed Shalini's pregnancy during mid May.

The ideal couple is sharing a pleasant and healthy relationship between them. Shalini is believed to be the backbone of Ajith's revitalization after a series of setbacks due to many failures. He has been benefited by the immense support from Shalini, who gave up acting after the marriage.

The picture was taken just after the completion of caesarian operation held in Apollo Hospital, Chennai on the early hours of January 3.

Ajith New Look

While his Billa is still keeping the ticket counters busy with activity, Ajith is busy shooting for his yet-untitled next venture in Hong Kong. As informed by us earlier, Ajith and the crew including director Raju Sundaram are stationed in Hong Kong for the first schedule of the actor's next venture, produced by Karunamoorthy under the Ayngaran banner.

Ajith is said to sport stubble for this movie and images made available by amateur paparazzis who managed to sneak a snap of the actor during the shoots reveal the same. Sources speak in hushed whispers that director Raju Sundaram felt Ajith's ungroomed whiskers looked good on him that he asked him not to get rid of them for the shoots and thus born a new look.

The crew will return to India after their shoots are over and proceed to Ooty for next schedule.

Papa Ajith pets baby Joan!

Nothing is quite as cute as a piece man cuddling a cherubic infant! That's quite what Thalai is busying him with these days!

As the devoted husband, he was beside his wife every second, a few days prior to her delivery. And now, he continues to do that but with the additional responsibility of being a devoted daddy! And who can blame him! After quite a long wait, Ajith and wife Shalini have been blessed with a child, and all they should do now is excitement over the baby!

Everybody's question 'When is the baby coming?' is now replaced with 'What are they going to name her?' Most often it is the most difficult part about having a baby – choosing the perfect name. Every one has a name to suggest!

The star couple is taking their own time to zero in on the right name, but till then, it is said daddy fondly calls her Joan! Why Joan, we don't know and whether Joan will stick on as the actual name, we'll have to wait to find out!

Will Bipasha pair with Ajith?

With Billa rocking the show, and a baby rocking his life you could say that Ajith could take a nice long vacation to soak up all the joy. But nope, later this month he will start shooting for his next project that is to be directed by Raju Sundaram. This part of the news has been making it rounds now. Well, the new addition to it is that after sweeping the country for a suitable lady lead, Raju has anchored on the hazy bong babe Bipasha. Word has it that she has been offered a pay that has several zeroes more than the pay of the highest paid Kollywood heroine! And yet Bips is still only considering!

If the rumour is to true, Bips is probably taking her time in responding to Raju because of her not very successful Kollywood stint in Sachin, where a lot of scenes that had the actress fell prey to the Censor's sheers! For those who want the rumour to be true, keep those fingers and toes crossed!

Ajith again in Vishnuvardhan’s direction!

After relatively some time, Ajith was blessed with a super hit film in 'Billa.' Since the film was received well, Ajith and Vishnuvardhan are joining forces again. After 'Billa,' Ajith will star in a production of Ayngaran International to be directed by Raju Sundaram. Ajith, Raju Sundaram and others are scheduled to fly to Hong Kong on the 18th of this month for the film.
After finishing point of this film, Ajith will star in a film directed by Vishnuvardhan. In this connection, the director says talks are on with Sivaji Productions.
Before starting on the Ajith film, Vishnuvardhan is directing Arya in 'Sarvam.' 'Billa' fame Nirav Shah is doing the cinematography. Arjun was theoretical to co-star with Arya in 'Sarvam' but it is said he backed out because it was a negative character role.

Ajith flies to Hong Kong

Ultimate star Ajith is on cloud nine with the amazing success of Billa and his joy reached a higher zenith with wife Shalini delivering a baby girl. On the professional front, he had committed to a film to be directed by Raju Sundaram which was reported to commence after Shalini's delivery as the couple was keen that Ajith be present during her labor.

Now that everything has fallen in place, he has decided to resume work from the 18th, after celebrating Pongal with his family.

www.Ajiththeactor.com

The actor along with Raju Sundaram's crew is all set to fly to Hong Kong on the 18th where they intend to start filming the stunt scenes which is an unusual norm in the industry. The reason, sources say, is that they haven't zeroed in on the leading lady. Many names had done the rounds in the past few weeks starting first with Shriya and things have now come a full circle as the Sivaji lady seems to be the person most likely to play Ajith's lady love. Inside sources close to the director indicate that Ajith plays the role of an intelligence officer in the film.

Billa Rules Kerala

Nearly two weeks after Billa released in Tamilnadu, the movie hit screens in Kerala. But the delay in no way dampened the response! Billa is officially the Christmas season rocker! The movie is said to have collect in loads more in cash and appreciation than Malayalam Moghul Mohanlal's Flash.

Movie buff, who was disheartened by the not so entertaining Flash, were absolutely fascinated by Billa. The number of Thalai fans in God's own country have increased, manifold. His suave looks and don-perfect attitude, have just floored the audiences in Kerala. Vishnu's Hollywood style making has impressed the Kerala audience greatly, as has Yuvan's music and Nirav's camera work.

The movie released in 25 screens on the 28th of December 2007 and has been running to packed shows since. Billa marks Ajith's biggest opening in the state, yet! The King of Openings has proved that he is King even in foreign land!

This film will be produced by Sivaji Productions. It is said that Ajith and Prabhu, who worked together for Billa, developed a good relationship and Prabhu expressed his willingness to make a movie for his home banner with Ajith in the lead.

However, the most prized honor came yesterday from the man who starred in the original!

Billa reaches a 25 crore in five days

Billa which is an Ajith starrer has made a record in the Indian cinema. This film was released on Dec14 i.e. on Friday. But it is said that the booking for this film was already done on 11th December. And the booking itself has made a record collection of 25 crores till 15th. And with this collection Ajith has again proved that he is not only a big hero in the Tamil industry but also has the same fan following as in 1990's. This proves that this film which is a remake of the Hindi film Don is still liked by the audience as there is a new look in the film which makes the audience concerned to the film automatically.
This film is directed by Vishnu and his skill has made this film carve into a well narrated idealistic suspense film which a tinge of action. And adding to the two beauties Nayantara & Namitha who have sexy figures did not hesitate in exposing for this film. Nayanatara has showed her skin a lot and is told that she had no hesitation in doing so as the script of the film demanded it. The songs were simply superb both on the maneuvering and lyrics part and the hero sizzled very well in the dance numbers. And it is said that if the current collections are backed up for at least two weeks then the film collections will positively break all the previous records in the Indian Film Industry .

A veteran’s complement to ‘Billa’

Balaji, who produced the original story of 'Billa' and donned the important role of the DSP, complement the makers of the new version of 'Billa'. He saw the film in a special show planned for him in the Four Frames theatre in Chennai on December 15. The veteran actor cum producer felt that the film had come out as a grand product. He congratulated the entire team for the work.He however, felt that the side track involving Thengai Srinivasan in the original could have been added more flavour to the new version.
Earlier, Ajith had arranged a special show for his co stars like Vijay, Suriya, and Karthi in the same venue on the evening of December 14. Vijay came to the show with his wife Sangeetha. All of them were said to be quite pleased with the movie in general and with Ajith's presentation in particular. The friendliness displayed after the show proved that the so called rivalry between the leading stars – particularly between Ajith and Vijay - looked as an mind or just a creation by media.

It's a rise of new dawn after three consecutive versions; the fourth don has finally hit the screens this Friday. The entire media focusing on the 4 th don has Ajith's enchanting performance and an excellent directorial by Vishnuvardhan.

Well, as you all know first it was Amitabh's Don that later remade into Tamil titled 'Billa' starring Superstar Rajnikanth. Fine! The dons' era wasn't over with this for Farah Akthar remade the Hindi version with Shah Rukh in lead role with pinch of variations with original version.

Vishnuvardhan might have felt it would be right choice to remake the Tamil version too. With the same thought was our Thala who had an eye towards remakes of the same regional movies. But was not sure about the remake movie he wanted to go for. Awestruck by his enthralling performance in Varalaru, Rajnikanth patted Ajith's shoulder and here was the re-birth of Billa. Expressing his likeness of remaking films of Rajnikanth, he opted for Billa and superstar had a green signal made ready for him.

Grouping all these 4 versions of same movie, they all had great leading superstars Amithab Bacchan, Rajnikanth, Shah Rukh and now Ajith. All the versions have been presented well, but there always exists a problem of comparisons.

Coming up with this issue, Ajith Kumar has his statement requesting not to compare all the four versions. In particular, he pleads all not compare himself with other stars who have enacted the same role in different versions. That's right, everyone posses something unique and they are different in one or the other way. More info Watch on www.billa2007.com

Billa 2007 Movie Review

It is not difficult to catch the 'coooool'ness of Billa in brief… it is impossible!

Yes, Vishnu Vardhan's Billa (which premiered in a few select cinema halls in Chennai today), releasing tomorrow, proved that it is not just another remake of an old trendy film, but magical and a visual treat with its own style and individuality.

Vishnu's style-mantra project starts with a bang and ends in an explosion, that's how punch-packed it is. "Part mark of respect, part original, all superficial" is a good description of this movie in which everyone (not just the hero!) looks and sounds simply smashing, with their clipped dialogues, power-dressing and loads of attitude. Plus, Vishnu has ensured that the movie stays within the 2 hour-15 minute time frame, a proof of the tight script and screenplay.

Does Billa actually need a story introduction? Proving wrong all the noise that Vishnu's Billa is exactly like Shah Rukh Khan's Don, the movie is INDEED like the Rajinikanth "original"… but with twists and a look and feel completely unique and probably the starkest ever made in Tamil cinema. Quite unlike SRK's Don, the colours in Billa are not rich and opulent – they are clean, suppressed, modern, even Zen at times. There is a lot of black, brown and olive hues, set in contrast to great swathes of white and cream. In such starkness, Ajith as Billa, comes forth larger than life and more stylish than any movie he has done in a long time.

Speaking of Ajith, he is quite clearly the very centre of the movie; he is the eye of the storm that tosses you about for 2+ hours. He looks handsome, hot and very much a "Thala". While SRK had a metrosexual, clean-shaven look, Ajith sports a devil-may-care and raw-edged stubble that only adds to the masculinity. Plus, his personality is dark, cold and silent as Billa; in complete contrast to the cheeky Velu.

With Billa, the female is as deadly, if not deadlier, than the male. Namitha plays CJ, the gangster's moll, but with a toughness and shrewdness worthy of any top boss. She is sexy, unabashed, fearless and perhaps even as ruthless as Billa himself. And she loves him to death. Literally.

Nayantara is the one out to tame the beast, consumed by the need for revenge. She is an electric mix of sexy and tough, beauty and fighting skill.

Prabhu is individually Prabhu. His authority and intelligence reminds one of Gautam Vishwanath of Mani Ratnam's Agninakshatram. Rahman plays the Interpol officer with some deadly tricks up his sleeve and Rose Dawn plays the woman who quite possibly, has put all these people together.

David Billa (Ajith). Most-wanted gangster, hiding and operating out of Malaysia, on the top of Interpol's criminal list. A lone tiger he is, and a ruthless one at that. As he says, "Look at history. If you want to live, to survive, you can kill any number of people, for any reason." This is Billa – scheming, clever, slippery, enigmatic and dangerous. No one knows his story, really, except that he literally clawed his way to where he is now, from an orphaned and deprived childhood to the top of the food chain. Along the way, he bent and broke every rule for not just survival, but for money, power and love of the game.

DSP Jayprakash (Prabhu) has spent a huge chunk of the last few years looking for the elusive Billa. He has left a life behind in India, only to base himself in Malaysia and strategies the capture of the man who has 50 high-profile crime cases slapped against him. As luck would have it, his path does cross Billa's and from then on, it's a rollercoaster ride. What happens to Billa? Who is Velu? How does Jayprakash use him to round up Billa's operations? DOES he actually close Billa's shop for good? How are CJ (Namitha) and Sasha (Nayantara) involved? How does he get the help of Interpol officer Gokulnath (Rahman)? What part does Rhia (Rose Dawn) play in Billa's life? Questions, questions, questions. For a movie that is supposedly a religious remake of the original, Vishnu's Billa manages to evoke all these doubts and keep you admiring everything from the view to the sounds and thrills.

Two people who deserve special mention for Billa looking and sounding as good as it does are Nirav Shah and Yuvanshankar Raja.

Nirav has magic in his camera and the way he has played with angles and lighting quite on par with a Hollywood biggie – very international, very cool. Everyone knows the kind of output he gives in a Vishnu Vardhan movie, but the clean colours, the cold cruelty and the minimalistic backdrops are brought to complete clarity by him.

Yuvan's music is brilliant! Every single song sounds great and now that you can experience the audio-visuals, it only gets better. The music gives the visuals so much attitude, so much mystery and arrogance that it is a superb blend. The theme song is probably the best because it arrives with drama and fervour at the right places throughout the movie.

Anu Vardhan's costumes are in keeping with the personalities of the protagonists – Ajith is urbane and casually, carelessly slick in suits, as Billa; scruffy and lovable as Velu in faded jeans and messy t-shirts and shirts; Nayantara is power-packed and as attitude-filled as Billa himself and dressed in leather, tights, boots and olives. Namitha is a true moll without being a floozy. She is curvaceous, devoted to Billa and smart in her own way. The actresses' roles could have been a bit more or a bit stronger, but we will leave that point for now.

All in all, Billa is definitely worth a watch. Or two. Or three or more!

Billa is back… and he is smashingly dynamic!

Fans first, says Ajithkumar

It is no magical that he is the only actor who has continued to retain his fan base despite a thread of flops. For Ajith, his fans come first.

Reinforcing this notion, the 'King of Opening' has made a rare gesture towards his fans. Despite pressure from the director and producer to have international premieres for his forthcoming film Billa, Ajith has informed them that he wants to show the film to his loyal fans in India first.

Acceding to their hero's request, the makers have now cancelled the intended premieres in Chennai, Kaula Lampur and UK. Though it might come as a dissatisfaction to the city's elite, who were hoping to walk the red carpet on December 13, the news is bound to be a cause for festivity for fans who will ensure their thala's magnum opus gets a great opening.

‘Billa’ ready for Dec 14 release

The hit are cleared for Ajith's much awaited film 'Billa', for December 14 release. The movie, directed by Vishnuvardhan, has been censored and given a U/A certification. The movie is jointly produced by 'Ananda' Suresh and Ayngaran International.

Pyramid Saimira, who has procured the distribution rights, is all set for the worldwide release of the film on December 14.

The buzz made round last week saying that Yuvan Shankar Raja had not completed the RR of the movie and hence the release of the movie would get delayed. The rumour, however, has proved to be wrong.

'Billa' is released in a week where there is no other release. Later this month, Christmas and New Year holidays could well boost the business of 'Billa'.

‘Billa’ Premiere on Rajini’s Birthday

Rajini's birthday is on Dec 12, the day they had decided to release 'Billa.'But that's not to be. It looks like the film would be unconfined on Dec 14 or even later as the film has still not gone to the Censor Board. It will most probably be done on Monday.
From the beginning, Rajini is showing keen interest in the 'Billa' remake. After appreciative of the remake idea, he also approved of Ajith as a good choice to play his role. 'Billa' trailer also won his approval.
In return, 'Billa' first performance is to be held on Rajini's birthday, and all the important film personality are expected to participate. The show will most probably be held at Sathyam theatre.
The film features a fascinating Nayantara and Namitha and also has a generous quota of action scenes. So, it looks like the film could get an 'A' certificate meaning only those above 18 would be permitted to view the film. This would affect the film's collection, so they expect to get a U/A certificate whereby those below 18 would be permitted if accompanied by an adult. We will know the result on Monday evening!

Billa Team Meets Press

Prominent members of the Billa 2007 cast and crew met up with the press meet to discuss their surefire blockbuster.

Produced by Anandha Pictures Circuit and Ayangaran International, Billa 2007 has Ajith in the lead marking his sixth 'double act' movie. Whenever he has played multiple roles, his films have invariably topped the charts. Probably because of the mighty care he takes in differentiating one character from the other, so much so that while watching the movie you hardly realize that it's the same guy!

Speaking at the Press meet L Suresh of Anandh Pictures track mentioned that the idea of doing a remake of a Rajini movie germinate in the mind of Ajith. It was on his suggestion that the topic was brought up with the Super Star. Rajinikanth, however, on the mention of a Billa remake was so excited, it was transmittable! The producer is very grateful for the encouragement and support that the Boss has shown, every step of the way.

So what did Super Star have to say about the well cut trailer? Apparently he was totally floored by the stylish picturization. He is supposed to have said that if the voiceover at the beginning was removed, it could easily pass off as a trailer for an English movie! "Getting Rajini's 'go ahead' at the beginning completed half the job", Ajith said – now with this compliment the team must be sure their efforts have not gone in vain.

Vishnuvardhan was only too happy with the outcome and the amount of hardwork his entire team put into the making of the movie. Well aware, that Billa 2007, is expected to be the second biggest hit of 2007, second to Sivaji, Vishnuvardhan must be thrilled about the hype the movie has created. Vishnu was all praise for the star and the humble person within the hero of his movie, and congratulated him on his performance.

Also present at the meet were actors Raghuman and Prabhu. Raguman mentioned that this movie was probably the biggest movie he had worked on in his movie career. And also stated that he along with the rest of the team have put in their best efforts for the film. Agreeing with him in this, Prabhu added that after Rajini and Kamal Haasan, Ajith was the most humble, unassuming and polite star he'd worked with. He added that he was very happy to be a part of this project.

The music director of movie, Yuvan Shankar Raja was also present at the event. He mentioned that he and Vishnu had studied in the same school, and it was always interesting to work with someone as energetic and enthusiastic as him. Yuvan has remixed two songs from the original Billa, namely My Name is Billa and Vethalaiye Potendi – both are bound to get some great reviews.

A brigade of very motivated people have got together to make what could easily be the most stylish tamil movie, yet. We wish them all the very best - we already know the movie is going to rock!

Ajith’s Transmutation

Ajith seems to be a new person. Both his looks and outlook are fresh. He was composed and balanced when he met the media persons (Nov 23) evening in Hotel Green Park, Chennai. The handsome actor was all along smiling, thinking, and carefully coins his words. He did not react in acceleration to any of the question. He responded politely even to the irritating ones. A reporter asked about his choice of heroine when he said he would do a film directed by Raju Sundaram. "Will it be Trisha or Nayantara or Shreya? Whom do you prefer?" Ajith smiled. "The story is not ready yet", was his response. Another reporter tried poked at him when he expressed his warm gratitude towards his fans for their loyalty even with many flops. "If you have so many fans to support you, then why your films fail?" was the question thrown on him. Ajith did not rush to respond. He did not evade the question either. He took his time and put forth his views gently. "The opening for my films prove that I have lot of fan following. If the content is not good, the film will not run for a long, for which we cannot blame the fans." "Age brings in maturity", was his response to a question about his change in approach when talking to the press. "Now I am running 37. I can't keep on talking the way I did when I was younger. If you meet me after ten years, you might see a much more matured person in me", said the actor. He also clarify that the press meet was not aimed at promoting his film Billa, which hits the screens by next month. "It is not my habit", said the actor. "I don't promote my films and I don't boast my successes either". He even declined to give any details on the specialties of Billa. "It is up to you to tell me what is special in Billa after seeing the movie", was his request in response to the query. The approach of the charming young hero, dressed in light cream jeans and white shirt, has definitely changed. He refused to make any sweeping statements or confident replies. Yet he was firm on his own style and clear in his thoughts and expressions. After finishing the formal press meet, he entertained the media persons who wanted to shoot some photographs and ask some exclusive questions. He was seen chatting with almost everyone and generously posing to the photographers for a long time. It was a different Ajit – polite, thoughtful, and matured. The only thing that hasn't changed is his inimitable charm.

Shreya is being showered with Hindi film offers as well as some in Telugu. In Tamil, she is acting opposite Vikram in 'Kandasamy.' Simbu is also bearing in mind her for his film. Even as Shreya is busy in India, she got this Hollywood film bid from Ashok Amritraj to play the lead in 'The Other Side of the Line.'

Because of her assurance to this Hollywood film, Shreya does not have free dates for Ajith's film. So, they are approaching Parvathi Meldon, who is acting in Telugu films, to pair opposite Ajith.

KS Ravikumar to direct Ajith

Their teamwork ' Varalaaru ' and 'Villan' were mega impressive hits. Their third film together is for AVM!
After 'Billa' is over, Ajith will act in 'Akbar' directed by Raju Sundaram. Shriya is his heroine. After this, he will act in the film directed by KS Ravikumar and produced by AVM's Balasubramanian.
Since their earlier 2 films were super hits, distributors are expectant over their third group effort. For his acting in 'Varalaaru,' Ajith did not get any award from the Tamilnadu govt. KS Ravikumar has expressed disappointment over this. In fact he wonders if the selection committee had even seen 'Varalaaru.'
They hope that this new film will make up for the award that Ajith did not get for 'Varalaaru.' The fans are waiting for release of Billa!
